Does your pet have a microchip?
Madera Pet Hospital would like to take this opportunity to acquaint you with a microchip implantation system that could be lifesaving for your pet. Pets can become lost in an instant. These pets are left to an uncertain fate unless they can be safely returned home. With all of the pets lost and displaced after hurricane Katrina, the importance of microchips is evident. California is not immune from natural disaster, and we should make as many preparations as possible to protect our loved ones and our pets.
Benefits of Microchip ID System
- Microchips provide permanent identification and will not get lost or fall off like pet id tags and collars
- Timely and effective reunion with family if pet should get lost
- Convenient website to update owner's home information, alternate contacts, and phone numbers.
- Requires only an office visit at which time the microchip is injected (much like a vaccine) under the skin of the shoulder area.
- Pet is automatically registered with The Marin Humane Society and if you wish for your pet to be registered nationally a fee of 17.50 and a completed application form can be sent in. This is ideal if you travel outside of Marin County with your pet.
Madera Pet Hospital believes that the microchip id system is the most effective way to insure reuniting you and your pet when they become lost.
