Dr. Susan Reinke was born in Spokane, WA, and was raised in Hayden Lake and Boise, ID. She received her DVM degree from Washington State University, where she also met and married Dr. Jerry Reinke. She worked in a clinic run by a small Humane Society in Manhattan for two years while her husband was at the Animal Medical Center. In Marin, Dr. Reinke worked for various veterinarians while her children were small. After a few years in general practice, she realized that she desired more training in dermatology, as it was frustrating to be able to visualize lesions on the skin and observe the animal's itching and not be able to make a diagnosis. What started out as spending time observing in the dermatology clinics at UC Davis led to a formal residency in dermatology and board certification in 1985. She had been at Madera Pet Hospital since 1981. Starting on September 1, 2007, she will be seeing her patients in Petaluma only. She will be at the Central Animal Hospital 203 D. Street Petaluma, CA 94952. Phone: 707-762-2693.
Dr. Reinke enjoys the often-intense working relationship she shares with a client as they work together to solve the pet's skin condition. The extra time spent taking a thorough history often leads to learning and understanding a great deal about the pet and its human family.
